Shrimp Daddy and The Sharp Shooters make a big noise!

Shrimp Daddy and The Sharp Shooters make a big noise!

The East Coast Blues Society and Split Crow Pub, Bedford, proudly hosted the first Bedford Boogie Woogie Blues Revue, a recurring matinee, this past Saturday, March 15.

Mike ‘Shrimp Daddy’ Reid  (vocals and blues harp), and The Sharp Shooters, alumni of the Dutch Mason Blues Band, Carter Chaplin ( guitar), Ainsley Jardine (drums), and Barry Cooke (keys and vocals), had the house packed and the dance floor hopping.

Taking the stage at 3 PM, they roared through 3 sets of smokin’ hot blues with a touch of rockabilly for flavoring.  Even the Fire Marshall put in an appearance, just to make sure Mike and the boys weren’t going to burn the place down, or maybe, just that the pub wasn’t dangerously overcrowded.

It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, with people coming from all over to check it out.

A lady from the Valley told me, “It was a terrible drive with the weather, but I’m so glad I came!”

Ian Grey, from Bedford, “I was a little late getting here, I’m glad I didn’t miss it. These guys are great!”

Kathy Sproul of Dartmouth, “I’ll be back for more of this. They are awesome!

This act will take the stage every Saturday from 3 – 7PM.   No cover charge.  Arrive early for good seats!
